How Can Christians Support Foster Care and Adoption?
When people think about foster care or adoption, they often assume they're either called to do it—or they're not.
But Scripture paints a much bigger picture.
While not everyone is called to open their home, every believer is called to reflect the heart of God.
James 1:27 reminds us that caring for orphans and widows is close to the heart of true religion. As the Body of Christ, each of us has a role to play in caring for vulnerable children and supporting the families who say "yes."
Here are a few simple ways you can make a difference:
Pray
Pray for children waiting for safe, loving homes. Pray for birth families, foster families, adoptive families, and the organizations serving them. Never underestimate what God can do through faithful prayer.
Encourage Families
Adoption and foster care can be beautiful, but they're also challenging. A text message, a handwritten note, or simply checking in can remind a family they are not walking alone.
Meet Practical Needs
Offer to bring a meal, babysit, help with yard work, or contribute toward adoption expenses. Small acts of kindness often become huge blessings during difficult seasons.
Learn and Advocate
Take time to understand the realities of foster care, adoption, and vulnerable families. As you grow in understanding, you can help others see God's heart for every child.
Share Hope
One conversation can make a difference. As opportunities arise, share about God's love for the fatherless and the beauty of welcoming children into safe, loving families.
We All Have a Part to Play
God doesn't ask all of us to do the same thing, but He does invite each of us to participate in His work.
Whether your role is praying, giving, serving, encouraging, fostering, or adopting, every act of faithfulness helps create a culture where children are valued and families are supported.
At The Wall Movement, we believe lasting change happens when the Church comes together. Every prayer, every gift, every conversation, and every act of obedience helps build a culture of life, hope, and adoption.
Together, we can remind vulnerable children and families that they are deeply loved—and never alone.
