Healing After an Abortion: Is There Hope?
If you've experienced an abortion, you may be carrying emotions that feel difficult to put into words—grief, regret, shame, confusion, or even numbness.
No matter where you find yourself today, we want you to know one thing:
There is hope.
Your story is not over, and you are not beyond the reach of God's love.
Romans 8:1 reminds us,
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus."
God never minimizes our pain, but He also never asks us to carry it alone. He invites us to bring every part of our story to Him, trusting that He is able to heal even the deepest wounds.
Healing doesn't happen overnight. It often comes one step at a time—through prayer, honest conversations, trusted community, and allowing God to gently restore the places that have been broken.
Psalm 147:3 says,
"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
That promise includes you.
Whether your abortion happened recently or many years ago, God is not finished writing your story. His grace is greater than your past, and His mercy is new every morning.
If you're wondering where to begin, start by talking honestly with God. He already knows your heart, and He welcomes you with compassion, not condemnation.
You don't have to walk this journey alone.
A Simple Prayer
Jesus,
I bring You every part of my story—the pain, the questions, the regret, and the places that still need healing. Thank You that Your grace is greater than my past. Help me receive Your forgiveness, walk in freedom, and believe that You can bring beauty from ashes.
Amen.
At The Wall Movement, we believe every life has value, and every person can experience the healing and redemption found in Christ. If this is part of your story, know that there is hope, there is healing, and there is always room for God's grace.
